PREPARATION
Preparation should be in accordance with building standards. Subfloors must be sound, even, smooth, permanently dry and free from old adhesive residues, dust, grease or other contaminants.
When overlaying existing floor coverings ensure that they are firmly bonded and clean.
Remove dirt, polish, oil and similar contaminating substances.
Substrate residual moisture content should be between 7% and 11% for wooden substrates, 3% for concrete and cement substrates, 0.5% for anhydrite screeds.
APPLICATION
Apply an even coat over the whole area to be covered using a suitable notched trowel (depending on the porosity and roughness of the substrate).
For floor coverings with a smooth backing use notched trowel A1, apply approx. 250 g/m².
For floor coverings with a rough backing use notched trowel B1, apply approx. 350 g/m².
1. Unroll the sheet down the length of the room.
2. Pull the sheets back half their length. Apply the adhesive onto the subfloor. Wait for 5-15 minutes before applying the floor covering onto the adhesive. Floor covering should be bonded within 30-40 minutes after adhesive application.
3. Repeat procedure for second half of sheet as soon as first half has been bonded. Use a plastic spatula for pressing the floor covering in order to ensure that it fully adheres to the ground and to expel trapped air.
4. Cut the edges with an edge trimmer.
Remarks
- Tightly close all containers after use.
- Wait for 24 hours before placing furniture.
Cleaning
- Tools and fresh spillages should be cleaned with warm water, preferably whilst the adhesive is still wet.
- Dry adhesive can be cleaned with chlorinated solvents.
