Suitable for gluing engineered parquet flooring, laminate flooring, floor battens.
Suitable for laying strip flooring, mitered herringbone and stone cut pattern parquet flooring.
BOSTIK TARBICOL PU 1K can be used for securing stair nosings, stairs and stair raisers onto concrete, metal or stone substrates.
Suitable for bonding thresholds, skirtings, mouldings.
Also suitable for any kind of underfloor heating.
For bonding factory-prefinished wood flooring on impervious substrates, use our PU 2K (2 component polyurethane adhesive).
PREPARATION
Preparation should be in accordance with building standards. Subfloors must be sound, even, smooth, permanently dry and free from old adhesive residues, dust, grease or other contaminants.
When overlaying existing floor coverings ensure that they are firmly bonded and clean.
Remove dirt, polish, oil and similar contaminating substances.
When further preparation of the subfloor is required, select suitable Bostik primers and Bostik smoothing and levelling compounds.
All surfaces must incorporate adequate damp proofing, if not, they should be primed with Eponal 376 Moisture Vapour Barrier coating.
Always allow primers and self-levelling underlayment to dry thoroughly before applying the adhesive.
The adhesive is suitable for bonding onto all types of substrates such as concrete screeds, cement/sand screeds, flooring grade plywood* and particle board*, metal decking, ceramic tiles, anhydrite screeds*.
* Direct application whithout primer
APPLICATION
Cut off the corner of the pouch, pour gradually the required adhesive quantity onto the substrate. Spread the adhesive evenly with a notched trowel Pajarito n°69. Do not spread more than can be covered before the adhesive sets.
During substantial breaks at work, take care to fold the "pouring" angle back on itself in order to prevent any contact with ambient air and to ensure that the entire content of the pack is used.
Place the wood flooring immediately in position and beat the whole surface with a mallet or a hammer and a tapping block to ensure good transfer.
Close up the strips or floorboards every 10 to 15 square meters.
Allow a gap of at least 8 mm between the parquet and walls. Gap calculation: 0.15% of the largest dimensions of the area to be covered with flooring. These gaps will be later covered by skirting boards.
Sanding and finishing should be done after painting works.
REMARKS
- Work in a dust-free environment.
- Do not install parquet flooring if relative humidity is over 65%.
- Degrease the oiled types of timber (e.g. teak) with acetone.
- Store the parquet in a dry place.
CLEANING
Tools and fresh spillages should be cleaned with acetone or White Spirit.
Dry splashes can only be removed mechanically.
