PRIMAIRE CIM

Bonding agent and pore sealer

Uses

PRIMAIRE CIM is an additive for improving malleability and cohesion of mortars.
Improves bond-strength of compounds, cement-based mortars, bonding slurries, renderings, grouts and tile adhesives.
Improves resistance to abrasion.
Does not alter the setting time of compounds.
PRIMAIRE CIM also works as a pore sealer – preventing pin holing in subsequently applied underlayments.
For interior use only.

Benefits

  • Easy to use: just add to water mortar volume prior to mixing with powder
  • Increases the bond-strength of cement mortars, levelling compounds, renderings, grouts and tile adhesives.
  • Improves mechanical properties of cement mortars, cementitious and plaster-based levelling compounds
  • Prevents cement-based products from cracking in hot weather
  • Improves the adhesion of the topcoats
  • Reduces tension
  • Improves the strength of repaired chipped edges made with cement mortars (e.g. stair nosings)

Application

PREPARATION
Preparation should be in accordance with building standards. Subfloors must be sound, of adequate tensile and compressive strength; free from laitance, cracks and structural defects; clean and free from dust, grease, curing compounds, sealers or any other contaminants that would inhibit proper bond.

APPLICATION
When used as an additive for bonding slurries, renderings, screeds and tile grouts:
Dilute 2 volumes of PRIMAIRE CIM in one volume of clean water, then add the mixture to the required quantity of powder.

When used as a pore sealer on absorbent cementitious substrates:
Apply a layer (100-200 g/m² depending on the substrate porosity) of CIM additive (1:2 water-diluted), then allow to dry for about 1 hour prior to the normal application of smoothing compound.

When used as an additive for self-smoothing compounds and tile adhesives:
Mix 25 kg bag of smoothing compound with 1 kg of PRIMAIRE CIM diluted in 5.5 litres of water.
Use clean containers.

REMARKS
- Do not use pure, always dilute in water
- Tightly close all containers after use.

Cleaning
Clean fresh splashes and tools with warm water.
