NB:
Depending on the initial colour and the nature of the chemical agent, a discolouration or change in colour can sometimes be observed, this change does not affect in any way the protection properties of the flooring.

Safety:

IMPORTANT: before embarking on any work involving EPONAL 328 the separate Product Safety Data Sheet must be studied carefully by those carrying out the work.
PREVENT skin and eye contact. Do not breathe vapours. Use protective gloves when mixing or using. Wear protective clothes and safety glasses.

Shelf life:

Up to 24 months in the original, unopened containers, stored in a dry place at +5°C and +25°C

Application

Application conditions
Working temperature: + 10° to + 30°C
Maximum relative humidity: 80%
During application and cure, substrate temperature must always be at least 3°C above the dew point temperature.

PREPARATION
Preparation should be in accordance with building standards. Concrete subfloors must be clean, sound, dry (relative humidity <4%), of adequate compressive and tensile strength (at least 25 MPa and 1,5 MPa respectively after 28 days cure for new concrete) and  not subject to hydrostatic pressure. They must be free from laitance, cracks and structural defects; clean and free from dust, grease, curing compounds, sealers or any other contaminants that would inhibit proper bond. Depending on subfloor condition and type, subfloors are treated by grit blasting, mechanical planing, scabbing, sandblasting, high pressure water washing or chemical stripping. After mechanical treatment of a subfloor, thoroughly vacuum all dust.

Steel and metal decking
should be sanded or abrasive blasted to a white metal finish, then degreased with MEK (Methyl Ethyl Ketone). Prime metal surface with EPONAL 990 at a rate of 80-100gsm, after curing sand and degrease it with MEK just before over-coating.

PRODUCT MIXING
Slowly add the hardener into resin (parts A + B) while mixing, mix thoroughly for 2 to 3 minutes with an electric drill and mixing paddle (speed: not more than 300 rpm in order to avoid air bubbles inclusion) until the colour is homogeneous. Apply the blend immediately.

SYSTEM
Primer: Dry substrate: apply a coat of EPONAL 321 using a roller or or a notched trowel  n°3 B2 at a rate of 300-400gsm. Damp substrate (not subject to water seepage or likely to suffer from rising damp): apply one or two coats EPONAL 376 using a roller or or a notched trowel  n°3 B2 at a rate of 300-400gsm/coat.
Coating: using a short-pile roller apply one coat of EPONAL 328 at a rate of 250-400 gsm depending on the required use.
Anti-slip finish: broadcast sharp sand (particle size: 0.4-0.9mm) abundantly over the primer coat still wet or over the first coat of EPONAL 328 still wet, apply with a short-pile roller the second coat of EPONAL 328 at a rate of 250gsm.

IMPORTANT: Long exposure to sunlight/UV rays may cause variations in colours. This effect is more or less noticeable depending on initial colour. It does not alter mechanical properties of the flooring.

Between primer application and Eponal 328 application, a minimum drying time should be observed depending on temperature :
