ARDAPREN NF
High performance primer for porous and non porous substrates, dries quickly

Additional Downloads
- MSDS (31 Kb)
Definitions
- ImperviousCharacterisitc of a subfloor which porosity is very low.
Adhesion on such substrates is usually more difficult and requires more attention and preparation.
- PrimerLiquid or paste applied onto a substrate to obtain optimum bonding.
It helps regulate the porosity of the substrate (reduce absorption, therefore adhesive usage), increase adhesion to non porous surfaces, improves application properties of later on applied adhesive
- Tiling
Uses
ARDAPEN NF is a ready-to-use water-based primer and adhesion promoter that increases adhesion between self-levelling compounds, tiling adhesives and substrates like: concrete slabs, mechanically planed concrete, existing ceramic tiles, terracotta, semi-flexible and vinyl-asbestos floor tiles, residues of old acrylic and neoprene adhesives, particle boards, plywood and parquet, etc.
For use on interior walls/floors and exterior floors.
Benefits
- Suitable for interior walls/floors and exterior floors.
- Ready-to-use solvent-free primer & adhesion promoter: promotes adhesion between self-levelling compounds, tiling adhesives and bsorbent and non absorbent subfloors.
- Quick-drying: approx. 30 min. depending on substrate
Properties
Physical:
- Aspect: white water-based solution
- Specific gravity: 1,05
- Drying time (absorbent substrates): approx. 30 min.*
- Drying time (imprevious substrates): approx. 1h30 to 2h*
- Ready for overcoating: 30 minutes to 12h (depending on substrates)
- Working temperature: preferably between +10°C and +25°C
* Drying time may vary depending on temperature, relative humidity and substrate porosity.
Consumption:
90 to 150g/m² depending on substrate porosity
Safety:
IMPORTANT: before embarking on any work involving ARDAPREN NF the separate Product Safety Data Sheet must be studied carefully by those carrying out the work. Observe good hygiene in use. Keep out of reach of children and animals. Avoid contact with eyes and skin.
Shelf life:
Up to 1 year in unopened original packaging, stored in dry conditions, protected from sunlight. Frost/thaw resistance: down to -5°C.

Application
SUBSTRATE PREPARATION
Preparation should be in accordance with building standards. Subfloors must be sound, dry (without rising damp), of adequate tensile and compressive strength; free from laitance, cracks and structural defects; clean and free from dust, grease, curing compounds, sealers or any other contaminants that would inhibit proper bond.
Substrate moisture content during application must not exceed 3% for cement screeds and 0.5% for anhydrite screeds.
APPLICATION
Absorbent and normally absorbent substrates
Apply undiluted primer evenly in a thin coat using a foam or medium-pile roller (coverage: approx. 100-150 g/m² per coat). Do not over apply and avoid puddle formation. Several subsequent layers may be necessary to completely impregnate the substrate.
Allow to dry for approx. 30 minutes before overcoating.
Very absorbent substrates: ARDAPREN NF can be diluted 1:1 with water.
For anhydrite screeds: allow to dry for at least 24 hours.
Impervious substrates
Apply undiluted primer evenly in a thin coat using a medium-pile roller (coverage: approx. 90-100 g/m²). Do not over apply and avoid puddle formation. Allow to dry for approx. 60 minutes prior to over-coating with a self-levelling compound.
Smoothing and levelling compounds, tiling adhesives must be applied within 6 to 12 hours after primer application.
