ARDAFLEX PLUS

• ARDAFLEX PLUS is a flexible tiling adhesive designed for installing small and very large-format ceramic tiles on interior/exterior walls and floors
• For use on new and old subfloors
• Can be applied on deformable substrates: floors with underfloor heating (except electric radiant floor), intermediate  floor slabs or walls of very wet areas (basins and private/collective swimming pools)

• Safe and comfortable: long open time, slip resistant   
• Renovation on old tiles without primer 
• Versatile: terraces, façades, heavy traffic, collective basins and swimming pools, wood substrates, etc. 
• For large-format tiles and natural stones (lime stone, marble, granite) of all porosity

Physical:

• Open time: approx. 30 min.*
• Adjustment possible during : approx. 20 min.*
• Pot life: approx. 3 hours*
• Ready for grouting: approx. 24 hours*
• Set to traffic: approx. 24 hours after grouting*
• Working temperature: + 5°C to + 30°C.
  *at 23°C and 50% RH conditions.

Consumption:

3.5 to 8 kg/m² according to application method and tile size

Safety:

IMPORTANT: before embarking on any work involving ARDAFLEX PLUS the separate Product Safety Data Sheet must be studied carefully by those carrying out the work. Observe good hygiene in use.  Keep out of reach of children and animals. Avoid contact with eyes and skin.

Shelf life:

Up to 1 year in unopened original packaging, stored in dry conditions, protected from sunlight.

SUBSTRATE PREPARATION

As a general rule and in compliance with professional rules, substrates must be even, clean, dry and free of grease and alkaline laitance. For porous or friable substrates, apply   ADRAPRIM R or ARDAPREN NF primer (see table).

Suitable substrates

(1) After application of ARDASEC XP  Waterproofing system under tiles.
** Apply ARDAPRIM R or ARDAPREN NF  primer.
*** Apply EPONAL PRIMEPOX  primer.
Not suitable for use on fibre cement, metal, polyester, film-forming coatings <= 3 mm.

 

(1) The size of natural stone tiles is limited to 2000cm².
* Apply ARDAPRIM R  primer.
** Apply EPONAL PRIMEPOX  primer.
*** Apply EPONAL PRIMABOIS  primer.
Not suitable for use on fibre cement, metal, polyester, film-forming coatings <= 3 mm.
Interior floors with siphons: inclined surfaces >= 1 cm/m 
Exterior floors: inclined surfaces >= 1.5 cm/m (not subject to rising damp).
For premises over crawl-space, unheated premises, floors with radiant electric underfloor heating systems use  ARDAFLEX HPS.

• Mixing ratio: 6 to 7 litres of clean water for 25 Kg (1.2 to 1.4 l of water for 5 kg). A maturing time of at least 5 minutes is recommended.
• Use a notched trowel to spread and adjust the thickness of the tiling adhesive on the substrate, working no more than 1 to 2 m² at a time.
• Double side application for tiles superior to: 500 cm² (low porosity) or 1100 cm² (p > 0.5%) for interior floors and 120 cm² (low porosity) or 500 cm² (p > 0.5%) for interior walls. Always proceed to double side application for exterior walls and floors.
• Position the tiles on tiling adhesive within specified open time and press / tap or roll over them to ensure a perfect transfer.
• Residues of ARDAFLEX PLUS should be removed from the tiles with damp sponge during application.
• Allow the mortar to set completely (at least 24 hours) before grouting.
