IDENDEN 40-113

HIGH VELOCITY SOLVENTED DUCT SEALANT

Uses

  • Idenden High Velocity Solvented Duct Sealant 40-113 is a quick-setting, solvented synthetic rubber based product, formulated for sealing longitudinal and flange joints in high velocity air conditioning and ventilation systems. 
  • Idenden High Velocity Solvented Duct Sealant 40-113 provides a tough, resilient air-tight seal which prevents loss of internal pressure from the duct.  It is both waterproof and flame retardant and has excellent specific adhesion to metal services. 
  • Idenden High Velocity Solvented Duct Sealant 40-113 conforms to HVAC Specification DW142 / DW144 and is fully tested in accordance with BS476 Part 6 and Part 7.

Drying time
Touch: 5 minutes (approx.)
Through: 24 - 72 hours (dependent on bead size and drying conditions)
Bond strength will continue to increase for about 7 days.  Do not test duct for pressure tightness for at least 48 hours.

Above +5ºC
Reaction to fire
Wet: Flammable (flash point less than -18ºC)
Dry:  When used for its intended purpose does not detract from the surface spread of flame characteristics of the duct work.

Consumption:

50 linear metres of 3mm diameter bead per C30 cartridge

Safety:

Before embarking on any work involving Idenden High Velocity Solvented Duct Sealant 40-113, the separate Safety Data Sheet should be carefully studied by those carrying out the work.

Shelf life:

At least 12 months from date of manufacture when stored unopened in a cool, dry place within the temperature range +5ºC to +25ºC and out of direct sunlight.

Application

1. Surfaces should be clean, dry and free from dust, oil, grease and any loose materials. 

2. Cut nozzle of cartridge to give required width of bead and pierce inner foil at base of nozzle using a nail. 

3. Insert cartridge into a skeleton gun and squeeze the trigger until the sealant appears. 

4. Extrude a continuous bead of sealant along the seam or slip joint. 

5. Position and fit sections of duct together and tighten, before the sealant dries.

6. Clean application equipment and remove excess uncured sealant with white spirit and cured sealant by abrasion.
