IDENDEN 30-90 AF

• Idenden Vapo-Seal Coating 30-90 AF is a high quality, acrylic emulsion coating.  The coating is ideal for applications in the thermal insulation industry to seal internal insulated piping, equipment and air conditioning ducting. The coating can be used on faced or unfaced insulation in two coat applications to sandwich reinforcing membranes such as scrim canvas or glass cloth.
• Idenden Vapo-Seal Coating 30-90 AF provides a suitable water barrier for HVAC applications. In areas of prolonged high humidity, e.g. external applications or where the insulated system contains chilled water, refrigerant etc. a true water vapour barrier is recommended such as Idenden Sprayable Vapour Barrier Coating ET-150, Idenden Brushable Vapour Barrier Coating 30-150, Idenden Aquashield Vapour Barrier Coating 30-316 or Idenden Vapour Barrier Coating 30-248.
• Idenden Vapo-Seal Coating 30-90 AF is quick and easy to apply using a brush or spray. The film dries quickly to form a homogeneous coating that demonstrates excellent flame retardancy and durability, thus improving the tensile strength and impact resistance of coated insulation. The dried film is washable and resistant to mould and insect attack.

Consumption:

2.5 - 5.5 square metres per litre per coat (depending on substrate and performance requirements)

Safety:

Before embarking on any work involving Idenden Vapo-Seal Coating 30-90 AF, the separate Safety Data Sheet should be carefully studied by those carrying out the work.

Shelf life:

At least 12 months from date of manufacture when stored unopened in a cool, dry place within the temperature range +5ºC to +40ºC and out of direct sunlight. PROTECT FROM FROST.

1. Surfaces should be clean, dry and free from dust, oil, grease and any loose materials. 

2. A) FACED INSULATION
Using a brush apply Idenden Vapo-Seal Coating 30-90  AF generously to the entire insulation surface, taking care to paste down any overlap joints. Apply a second coat of Idenden Vapo-Seal Coating 30-90 AF after the first is dry to the touch and within 24 hours.  

B) UNFACED INSULATION
Cut a reinforcement membrane such as a scrim canvas or glass cloth to size, and using a brush apply Idenden Vapo-Seal Coating 30-90 AF generously to one side. Position the reinforcement membrane, coated side down, and pull tight around the insulation to avoid wrinkling. Immediately apply a second coat of Idenden Vapo-Seal Coating 30-90 AF to the entire surface.

3. SPRAY INSTRUCTIONS
Idenden Vapo-Seal Coating 30-90 AF may be sprayed with a variety of airless spray systems. However, the following system has proved successful:  

Pump:  Airlessco 5100/Graco 1095 
Fluid Hose: 7 mm up to 15 m, 9 mm over 15 m 
Gun:  Airlessco 007 
Tip:  0.017-0.021 Reverse-a-quick nozzle

During spraying wear suitable respiratory equipment.

4. Clean application equipment and remove excess uncured coating with cold water and cured coating with white spirit.

Dry: White spirit

NOTE: Idenden Vapo-Seal Coating 30-90 AF is only suitable for internal use unless overpainted by an additional solvent or water based coating.
