IDENDEN 10-37

BITUMEN COLD STORE ADHESIVE

Uses

  • Idenden Bitumen Cold Store Adhesive 10-37 is a high quality rubberised bituminous emulsion suitable for use as an insulation adhesive or to provide a vapour barrier coating to cold store walls. The dry film is low odour.
  • It can be used as a primer for other bituminous systems and as a keying aid for sprayed polyurethane.
  • It can also function in its own right, as a damp proof membrane. Although water based, it does not induce the corrosion of metal substrates and, when dry, will give protection against corrosion.
  • Idenden Bitumen Cold Store Adhesive 10-37 is ideal for bonding low density fibrous insulation, cork and lightweight foam insulants including expanded polystyrene and rigid polyurethane to metal, masonry or wood.
  • Idenden Bitumen Cold Store Adhesive 10-37 may be applied by spatula or notched trowel.

Benefits

  • Excellent adhesion to a variety of materials
  • Vapour barrier
  • Easily applied by spatula or notched trowel
  • Low odour
  • Rubber modified bitumen for water resistance combined with flexibility

Application

1. Surfaces should be clean, dry and free from dust, oil, grease, mould and any loose materials; masonry must be free from mould release contamination.

2. A) PERMEABLE INSULANTS
Apply to one surface only at a rate of 0.6 – 0.8 square metres per litre and immediately press insulation firmly into place.
B) IMPERMEABLE INSULANTS
Apply to both surfaces at a rate of 0.3 – 0.4 square metres per litre (each surface) and leave to dry for about 20 minutes depending upon ambient conditions. Align accurately and press firmly into place.  Additional mechanical support may be required on overhead surfaces while the adhesive dries.  Protect from rain and frost until the adhesive has dried.
C) VAPOUR BARRIER
Apply two coats by spatula or notched trowel at 1.0 square metre per litre each, allowing a minimum of 6 hours between coats. The second coat should be applied at right angles to the first.

3.  Clean application equipment and remove excess adhesive immediately with water.

Solvent for cleaning up
