-
There is an established European classification with a precise meaning for each indication :
For cementitious products :
- C1 = Standard cementitious adhesive ;
- C2 = Improved cementitious adhesive.
For dispersions – ready to use :
- D1= Standard dispersion adhesive ;
- D2= Improved dispersion adhesive.
Special characteristics are summarized as follows :
- E = long open time (30 min) ;
- T = increased tack ;
- F = Fast setting adhesive ;
- G = Fluid ;
- S = Flexible adhesive (S1 : 5mm < movement > 2.5 mm ; S2 : movement > 5 mm).
Those characteristecs can be added up : for instance C2 ET.

WALL
- 1. Should I apply Fliz on the paper or on the wall ?
-
Application directly on the wall is much easier and quicker : simply use a roll, no need to fold the paper and to wait !

- 2. How to proceed to bond a new wall paper onto the old one ?
-
It is never recommended to bond a new covering onto the old one for several reasons :
The old one can be poorly bonded to the wall, therefore the new one will necessarily also be poorly bonded to it.
The adhesion onto the old one can be difficult, depending on its type.
Also for aesthetic reasons, this is not recommended as colour or drawing on old one could be seen through the new one.
Better remove the old covering with the help of Quelyd DISSOUCOL for a final result which will give you all satisfaction.

- 3. Which product is recommended for wet rooms ?
-
For wet rooms, products with antifungal and biocide agents are highly recommended as those rooms (kitchens, bathrooms, showers) are places where mould is very much likely to grow. Use QUELYD FLIZ or QUELYD VINYL, depending on the type of paper to be applied.

GENERAL
- 1. How long can the glues be kept ?
-
Shelf life is normally indicated on the packaging.
Most often it is one year but depending on the chemistry of the product, this can be either shorter or longer. Shelf life will also depends upon storage conditions. For instance, a wall paper adhesive can be kept for ever if kept in a dry place.
Important too is the temperature in the storing area : some glues (vinylic wood adhesives and acrylic floor adhesives in particular) are sensitive to frost. Their performance will be fully impacted if the packaging is exposed to negative temperatures. Instructions for storage are also available on the packaging.
- 2. What product should be used to clean glue residues ?
-
The selection of the right product will depend upon the type of adhesive to be cleaned.
If this is a glue based on water (wood adhesives, floor adhesives...), water will be sufficient for fresh spillages. On old spillages, whatever the type of adhesive is, you will need to scratch or sand the adhesive.
For neopren glues, (solvented ones) or PU (polyurethane), acetone is recommended. Old spillages should be impregnated with acetone to facilitate efficient scratching.
For epoxy adhesives, use alcoohol.
Dry residues of ready to use glues or vinylic or acrylic ones on a wall should not be removed with water, paint strippers are recommended and finish with sandpaper.
