The EEMEA division is the youngest geographical entity (France-based) of Bostik in charge of developing sales of all Bostik affiliate product ranges, whatever the brand is, in Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa.

EEMEA is a part of Bostik company, the fourth largest adhesive and sealants producer in the world, backed by the resources of TOTAL, the fourth world largest oil company.

  • Bostik has 4,500 employees with 55 production facilities and sales operations in 46 countries across five continents.
  • Bostik sales amounted to 1.3 billions Euros in 2007.
  • Its share of targeted world market is 4 %.

We serve 3 major markets in EEMEA area:

  • Construction: wide variety of technological solutions for projects in tiling, flooring, waterproofing, renovation, decorating and specialist assembly.
  • Consumer: decoration, repair and assembly
  • Industry: automotive, aircraft systems, packaging application, product assembly, textile, hygiene, tapes and labels, insulating glass, etc.

History

Bostik was formed through mergers and acquisitions:

  • 1889 The Boston Blacking Co. was founded in Chelsea Massachusetts. It has its origins in the shoe industry and shoe adhesives.
  • 1911 The Wisconsin Paste Company, a manufacturer of wallpaper and billboard paste, was purchased by Frank G. Findley, which became known as F.G. Findley CO. and later Findley adhesives.
  • 1929 The Boston Blacking Co. was taken over by USM (United Shoe Machinery) and was developed on a global scale, focusing on the shoe industry.
  • 1950's The company started its international expansion and diversification.
  • 1990 Bostik was purchased by TOTAL, the French petroleum oil company, which carried on growing Bostik by merging it with its own adhesives affiliates, and through a steady acquisition policy which gradually brought Bostik among the leading players.
  • 1996 Ato Findley was created through the merger of three companies: CECA Adhesives (the adhesive branch of Elf Atochem and the top-ranking adhesive specialist in France), Findley Adhesives (an American company, world leader in the disposable non-woven products market) and Laporte Adhesives and Sealants (the leader in the United Kingdom and Ireland).
  • 2001 Bostik Findley was formed as a result of the merger of two of France's largest oil & gas Company Total Fina and Elf Aquitaine, and their two Adhesives Companies, Bostik and Ato Findley.
  • 2004 Bostik Findley became Bostik, the official brand name of the company.
  • 2007 EEMEA division was founded to develop Bostik business in Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa.
